Course Outline

Are you using patient photography to its fullest but are not satisfied with the results? Do you use your clinical photographs only for treatment planning and patient records? Then you are missing out on an excellent opportunity to show off your great work. We will show you the tips and techniques to consistently take excellent patient views, portraits and preparation of marketing and education material. You will be amazed how easy digital photography can be learned and immediately incorporated into your dental practice.

What you will learn:

What’s New in Dental Photography?

  • "Must Have" Gadgets and Equipment that will Simplify your Patient’s Photographic Documentation.
  • See what’s new in equipment choices, accessories and other neat gadgets that will improve your efficiency in your dental photographic documentation.

Techniques for Standardized Patient Photography:

  • Exposure Set up and Camera Calibration for Patient Photography
  • Practice the proper techniques for clinically correct views by photographing each other. Please bring retractors and mirrors to the course.

Documenting the Patient Makeover:

  • Learn how to take portraits of your patients and your team members for your patient gallery. Give the patient the picture they actually want.

Communicating with Digital Images:

Many Patients leave practices to find specialized services elsewhere because they don’t know that their dentist offers the services they desire…if you don’t tell, you don’t get to do the work.

  • Learn how to make a customized patient presentation in seconds.
  • Prepare marketing material with patient photographs — Participants will receive a customized patient template for their own patient gallery.
  • Provide your dental laboratory with valuable information that only a great clinical photograph will give. Improve the look and function of your cases and reduce the need for remakes or corrections.
  • Tips for Practice Enhancers, preparation of patient certificates, magazine covers, running slide show.

Course Requirements: Participants should bring their dental photography equipment, plus mirrors and retractors for the hands on portion of the course. Exposure test and colour calibration will be done during the morning session.

Some of the latest cameras will be provided for participants that do not have a camera and wish to "test drive" the equipment to determine which model is best suitable for their practice.
