Course Synopsis

A very unique learning experience for the practicing dentist. This is a comprehensive review of clinical solution for the practice of Restorative Dentistry and it will empower you for Monday morning. This is a “hands on” workshop with over 10 hours of laboratory participation by each attending Dentist and 9 hours of lectures.

Learning Objectives:

On completion of this workshop, each participant will be able to treat his patients with a new era of dental materials and clinical treatment options. Each technique is first explained and then reinforced with “hands-on” participation.


Come prepared to ‘rollup’ your sleeves and learn new treatment options, manipulate dozens of new material and equipment. Return to your office with overflowing bags of materials and discount coupons from dental companies.

  • Pre-treatment Diagnostics and Planning: Make pretreatment mockups to diagnose treatment strategies and enable effective patient communication
  • Tooth prep design for new materials: Prepare quality preparations and instrumentation for new generation of ceramic materials. Advanced margin designs for ceramic materials and cad-cam milled restorations.
  • Treatment Stents: Fabricate clear resin or other stents for transferring diagnostic information to the mouth. Use them as preparation guides and for fabricating provisional restorations.
  • Final and diagnostic Impressions: Learn a new, highly successful impression technique. Learn to use a laser for sulcus dilation.
  • Provisional Treatment Restorations: Make accurate and quick matrix indexes. Use new provisional materials and burs for chairside finishing of single and multiple restoration.
  • Cement selection for provisionals, posts, interim crowns, implants, veneers and all ceramic crowns. Test cements for long and short term cementation of provisionals.
  • Soft Tissue Management for Esthetics and Great Impression: Management of soft tissue to maximize the esthetic results and sulcus troughing for better impressions. Learn to use radiosurgery and a laser system.
  • Anterior Guidance and Its Crucial Role: Learn how to replicate anterior esthetics, incisal edge position and replicated with custom made guide table and new articulators.
  • Core Buildup for Vital and Non Vital Teeth: Understand when to use or not to use posts. Work with a variety of metal and fiber post systems, cements and core buildup materials.
  • Implant Systems for Dentures: Place mini implants and learn to appreciate the superior fit of a complete or partial denture. A new technique for your practice
  • Posterior Direct restorations: Learn how to achieve better proximal contact and anatomy, plus improve your bonding success.
  • Make a TMJ appliance and bite guard and understand TMD pain management.
  • Make a chairside single appointment composite crown for patients with financial limitations.

Biographies

Dr. Arun Nayyar, D.M.D., M.S. maintains a referral-rbased Prosthodontic practice in Atlanta Georgia, USA. He is an internationally recognized speaker and has made over 250 presentations in the US and Internationally. He is a former Faculty, MCG School of Dentistry and served as Director of Fixed Prosthodontics and Clinical Director and Adjunct Principle Research Scientist at the Center for Dental Technology, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta Georgia.

Dr. Gregori M. Kurtzman, DDS, MAGD, DICOI is a full-time general practitioner in Silver Spring, MD. He has been recognized as one of the top 100 lecturers by Dentistry Today in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. Dr Kurtzman has lectured extensively in the US and Internationally. He has authored over 170 dental articles on a wide variety of dental topics. He is a former Assistant Clinical Professor in the University of Maryland College of Dentistry.
